White sculptures consisting of multiple unique “head-in-the-hole” panels

Liam Gillick: Folded Extracted Personified

Folded Extracted Personified is a large-scale interactive work installed throughout MIA Park consisting of multiple unique 'head-in-the-hole' panels. Commissioned for the inauguration of the National Museum of Qatar, the work draws inspiration from the collections of Doha's newest museum and that of the celebrated Museum of Islamic Art.

Each panel features a unique work from the museum collections, with visitors invited to place their heads within the context of each historic depiction. Part minimal sculpture, part playground attraction, Gillick's installation playfully responds to MIA Park as a place for social gatherings, weekend bazaars and leisure activities.
