Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams

This elegant catalogue showcases more than 80 of the House of Dior’s finest haute couture designs. Published for the inaugural exhibition at the fashion and design hub M7, Christian Dior Designer of Dreams reflects the pioneering spirit of the fashion label’s creative directors, from founder Christian Dior’s assertive glamour to Maria Grazia Chiuri’s feminist romanticism. This catalogue also presents Lady Dior Art handbags, which are collaborations with contemporary artists, a selection of vintage fashion sketches by Dior and evening gowns worn by famous celebrities and royalty, including Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.
Jeff Koons: Lost in America

Showcasing more than 60 paintings, sculptures and readymades, Jeff Koons: Lost in America takes readers on a unique journey through the artist’s career. Edited by curator Massimiliano Gioni, the book features works from his earliest series in the 1980s to his latest productions, with each section introduced by the artist’s own words. Ranging from memories of his childhood in Pennsylvania to his experiences as a father, his statements provide fascinating insights into the inspiration behind some of his most iconic pieces. Published to accompany the major exhibition launched in Doha in November 2021, the catalogue includes an in-depth interview with Jeff Koons by the curator, as well as essays by the well known art critic Dodie Kazanjian and Qatari-American writer and artist Sophia Al Maria.

Pour une autre modernité For a New Modernity

Moroccan artist Farid Belkahia (1934–2014) was a pioneer of modern art in the Maghreb region, forging an abstract language that drew on age-old craft traditions. Eventually giving up painting to work in copper and leather, Belkahia created a unique bodyof work that played an essential role in establishing modernism within a local context. This book – published to accompany the retrospective curated at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in collaboration with Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art – presents a major survey of Belkahia’s art, with essays by Michel Gauthier, Lina Ramadan, Fatima-Zahra Lakrissa and Kenza Sefrioui.

Mal Lawal 3

Presented at the National Museum of Qatar, the third Mal Lawal exhibition, on view 18 June through 15 September 2021, showcased some of the finest objects owned by private collectors in Qatar. Mal Lawal (meaning ‘of the past’ in Qatari dialect) explored local heritage from a personal perspective, highlighting the individual stories of the collectors and how they came to acquire their most cherished pieces. This catalogue provides a lasting record of the show, with magnificent photography portraying the range of objects displayed, including antique weapons, traditional Gulf clothing, ancient coins, Islamic antiquities, calligraphic manuscripts, rare Qatari stamps, vintage toys and classic cars.
