Welcome, football fans! Qatar Museums is pleased to welcome all visitors to Doha for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

We’ve opened our doors to visitors from all over the world with special hours from 1 November until 20 December. Please note that the information below is subject to change and may be updated at any time.

Transportation

We recommend that visitors take public transportation to our venues and events.

The free Mathaf shuttle bus will operate daily between 10 am until 7:30 pm with stops at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Qatar National Library, Fire Station, National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art, and 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum. Download timetable (PDF)

Hours and Operations

All of our venues are open the following hours unless otherwise indicated:

Sunday through Saturday: 10am–8pm

Note: Last entry to museums and galleries is 30 minutes prior to closure. Please consult the list below for information about specific venues.

Ticketing

Tickets to our museums and exhibitions are free for adult residents of Qatar and GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait) with valid ID and for all children 16 and under. Tickets for all others are QAR 100 unless otherwise indicated. Resident ticket holders must present valid ID upon entry. One Pass holders may also book a limited number of tickets for no additional charge, depending on their membership tier.

Tickets should be booked online in advance of your visit. You will receive your tickets by email and must present them upon arrival. Tickets are non-transferrable and are valid for single-use entry only on the date and time specified. In addition to a valid museum entry ticket, visitors to 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic Sports Museum must also present a Hayya card.

Museums and Galleries

3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum

3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will be closed to the public on the following match days at Khalifa International Stadium:

  • Thursday 1 December
  • Saturday 3 December
  • Saturday 17 December

All visitors to 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum must purchase tickets online in advance of their visit.

There is no parking at the museum. We recommend that visitors be dropped off by private car or taxi or arrive via metro.

Note: Upon arrival, visitors will be screened at the FIFA Security gates and must have a museum ticket and Hayya card. Once through security, visitors will be taken to and from the museum on a shuttle bus. They will not be permitted to enter the adjacent stadium. Visitors will not be allowed to enter the security cordon without presenting a Hayya card along with a valid museum entry ticket. Walk-ins will not be permitted through the security cordon and will not be able to enter the museum.

National Museum of Qatar

The museum is accessible by car, public buses or the metro. Information about getting around Doha during the FIFA World Cup can be found on Qatar2022.qa.

Vehicle and pedestrian entrance is from the roundabout at Mathaf and Museum Park Streets. There is parking onsite.

The North Playground and kiosks can be accessed by the north pedestrian gate on Emrair Street.

The metro shelter in the NMoQ carpark is exit only until 20 December. Metro entrance is from the shelters on Ras Abu Abboud Street. This is a 10 minute walk south along Sheraouh Street to Ras Abu Abboud Street.

Tickets to the National Museum of Qatar are available in one-hour time slots. Please arrive on time to ensure entry.

Museum of Islamic Art

Due to road closures during the tournament, the Museum of Islamic Art will not be accessible by car. Visitors are advised to use public buses or the metro. Information about getting around Doha during the FIFA World Cup can be found on Qatar2022.qa.

Tickets to the Museum of Islamic Art are available in one-hour time slots. Please arrive on time to ensure entry.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

Mathaf is accessible by metro, shuttle bus, tram and car.

Arriving via Mathaf shuttle bus

The free Mathaf shuttle bus operates daily between 10 am until 7:30 pm with stops at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Qatar National Library, Fire Station, National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art, and 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.Download timetable (PDF)

Arriving via metro

Take the Metro green line and get off at the Education City station. From there, follow the signage to the Mathaf entrance. It is a 15 minute walk from the Education City metro station to Mathaf.

Education City tram service

Education City has a free tram service that runs across campus. Please get off at tram stop 5, Qatar Academy South, for access to Mathaf. Please note: the Mathaf stop is currently closed.

Arriving by car

If arriving by car, visitors must enter through Gate 14 (near Qatar Academy Sidra Primary School). Please note: the area around Education City Stadium from Gate 14 to Al Awsaj roundabout will be closed to cars until 18 December. The Mathaf car park is open to visitors but spots are limited.

M7

Tickets to the Forever Valentino exhibition at M7 are available in one-hour time slots. Please purchase tickets in advance in order to select your preferred time slot.

Fire Station Garage Gallery

Visitors to the Experience Al Jazeera exhibition must purchase tickets online in advance.

Visitors to all other exhibitions at Fire Station must also purchase tickets online in advance of their visit.

Tickets for the exhibition Experience Al Jazeera or for the other special exhibitions at Fire Station are not available for purchase on site.

Only ticketed visitors are permitted to enter Cass Art.

Qatar Museums Gallery – Al Riwaq

Al Riwaq is not accessible by car. Visitors are advised to use public buses or the metro. Information about getting around Doha during the FIFA World Cup can be found on Qatar2022.qa.

Qatar Museums Gallery – Katara

Katara is accessible by car or by public buses or the metro. Information about getting around Doha during the FIFA World Cup can be found on Qatar2022.qa.

Al Najadah

Tickets are not required for Al Najadah. Entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Flour Mills

Visitors to the exhibition Art Mill Museum 2030 must arrive via the free shuttle bus departing from the Museum of Islamic Art. Tickets are not required but entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Note: Many of our heritage sites are in remote locations and offer limited or no facilities. Conditions may be rugged, and comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended. Please plan accordingly. Only Al Zubarah Archaeological Site requires tickets.

DADU Gardens

All visitors to DADU Gardens must book tickets in advance.

MIA Park

MIA Park and Flag Plaza are open and accessible to the public 24 hours a day. However, they are not accessible by car. Visitors are advised to use public buses or the metro. Information about getting around Doha during the FIFA World Cup can be found on Qatar2022.qa.
