The publications department supports Qatar Museums’ (QM) mission to extend the reach of its collections and exhibitions to a broad and diverse audience through publications that increase awareness of and appreciation for art and heritage, inspire lifelong learning and provide valuable resources to scholars, art lovers, and students of all ages.

Publication Internship Programme 1

Period of Internship: 3 months

About This Internship

The programme aims to identify translators with a very good command of the Arabic language and a solid understanding of English, with an interest in translating art content with scopes that vary between five thousand to seven thousand words.

Specialist area: Translation

Qualification Required: Master’s Degree

Skills Required

Advanced translation skills and knowledge of Arabic and English languages. Experience in art or publishing is recommended.

The intern will:

  • Undertake translation of exhibition guide content planned for the Fall 2026 season;
  • Translate art books that are planned for publishing in Fall 2026.

Publication Internship Programme 2

Period of Internship: 3 months

About This Internship

The programme provides a hands-on experience in creating, designing, and producing visual content for museum publications that vary in scope. It includes creative layout design work that requires advanced problem-solving skills.

Specialist area: Graphic design
Qualification Required: University/College Student 

Skills Required

Creative and passionate with good knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Photography skills are highly desirable.

The intern will:

  • Work on design layouts for gallery guides and books, and see them through to production;
  • Learn to design with various branding guidelines and prepare files for printing.
  • Photograph Qatar Museums (QM) publications in an artistic manner to be published in the QM publications catalogue and to be shared on social media platforms.

Publication Internship Programme 3

Period of Internship: 3 months

About This Internship

The programme aims to identify candidates for editorial positions within the publishing department who can work with complex text and multiple projects, and tight timelines.

Specialist Area:  English language or Literature

Qualification Required: Master’s Degree   

Skills required

Strong understanding of the English language and close attention to detail

The intern will:

  • Be required to copy-edit and proofread art-related content to ensure clarity and accessibility to a wide audience, and high standards of expression.
  • Proofread laid out content to ensure consistency, accuracy and no grammatical or language mistakes;
  • Assist in coordinating content in the different phases of the project with the different stakeholders.
