The Qatar Museums Online Collection offers digital access to artworks and cultural objects from across Qatar Museums’ extensive collections. From paintings and textiles to sculptures and sporting memorabilia, the platform brings together objects from different periods, allowing you to explore them from anywhere.

First launched in April 2025, the Online Collection now includes information about more than 1,650 objects, with more being added each week. And new features provide additional ways to explore the collection, examine individual objects and discover connections across different collections.

Our newly launched timeline feature places objects in their historical context.

From 300,000 BCE to Today

Our new interactive timeline allows you to explore objects chronologically, spanning periods from 300,000 BCE to the present. Moving through different eras, you will discover objects from across Qatar Museums’ collections and see how they relate to different periods, materials and museums.

Animating the Collection

Selected objects from the collection have been brought to life through animations created in collaboration with artist Andrey Zakirzyanov. His work includes animated reinterpretations of paintings by Vincent van Gogh and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, which have attracted millions of views across social media.

Create Your Own Collection

You can now create a personal account and save and organise your favourite objects into different collections. This allows you to build a personal journey through QM’s collections, revisit objects of interest and bring together meaningful selections over time.

Learn Through Play

Whether you’re exploring the Online Collection as a student, a teacher or together with your children, we’ve added new educational games and quizzes to make learning about Qatar Museums’ collections more fun and interactive.

Comparing Objects to Discover Connections

We’ve launched a new system that invites you to see objects side by side and explore similarities and differences based on time period, material, technique and more. We expect this feature to be particularly useful for researchers, students, educators and anyone interested in examining objects in greater detail.

Ongoing Discovery

Once you’ve found an object of interest, our suggestion engine will recommend additional objects based on shared details, including material, category and period. AI-supported visual matching can also identify objects with similar visual characteristics, introducing you to works you may not have encountered otherwise. These recommendations provide yet another way to navigate the collection and explore relationships between objects.

Wherever you are, we invite you to take a virtual journey to Qatar Museums by exploring our Online Collection.
