Installed on the façade of the Fire Station, Al Khater’s work marked the first anniversary of the blockade against Qatar and serves as a symbol of the resilience and solidarity that grew within the community. The familiar proverb had been a significant part of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's historic speech on 21 July 2017, in which he addressed the citizens of Qatar for the first time since the start of the blockade.
Created by Qatari political ARToonist Ghada Al Khater in 2018, A Blessing in Disguise was the artist's Arabic answer to Martin Creed’s work Everything Is Going to be Alright.
