Jiwan, MICHELIN Bib Gourmand restaurant in the iconic National Museum of Qatar, announces the appointment of Chef Julien Guilloret as Head Chef.

Having begun experimenting with recipes before the age of ten, Guilloret’s love for cooking has always been driven by curiosity and imagination. Over the last twelve years he has refined his craft in celebrated kitchens across Dubai, the French Riviera and Paris where, before joining Jiwan, he served as deputy chef at Les Ombres. It was here that he was influenced by the ‘Naturalité’ culinary philosophy of Alain Ducasse which champions a cuisine that is sustainable and respectful of nature with a focus on vegetables, grains and fish. He brings this perspective to Jiwan where it aligns with the restaurant’s modern expression of the MENA region’s traditional cuisine.

“I believe that cooking begins with respect for natural ingredients and for the people who grow and prepare them” says Chef Guilloret. “Jiwan gives me the opportunity to apply this thinking to the produce and culinary traditions of the MENA region in an exciting and modern way.”

Under Guilloret’s leadership, and with his signature sustainable and contemporary approach, the restaurant begins a new chapter of celebrating the region’s rich diversity, delighting guests with new flavours, and extending warm and welcoming Qatari hospitality.
