Guidelines for filming at Qatar Museums

  1. Filming must take place within the time limit(s) specified by Qatar Museums prior to the shoot.
  2. All members of the crew must be supervised by a member of Qatar Museums staff at all times and must act as advised by the Qatar Museums staff member.
  3. Only trained personnel authorised by Qatar Museums can touch or move museum objects and antiquities. Anything that needs to be moved for the filming must be arranged at least two weeks in advance.
  4. Filming equipment must be handled carefully when moving around the museum in order to avoid damaging the premises or any objects within it.
  5. Lighting used by the crew must comply with the requirements given by Qatar Museums staff at any time. Light wavelengths below 400 nanometers (ultraviolet) and above 700 nanometers (infrared) are not within the visible spectrum and can damage or shorten the life of works of art. They should therefore be eliminated from light sources. When possible, lights should be filtered or screened to eliminate ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation.
  6. No filming equipment will be allowed to enter our premises unless it was approved in advance by Qatar Museums.
  7. Filming crew must conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful towards Qatar Museums staff and visitors.
  8. No food or drink is allowed in the museum galleries unless an authorised member of staff allows it.
  9. Filming crew must not leave litter or waste of any kind in our premises.
  10. No chemical products are allowed in our premises.
