A Falcon’s Eye: Tribute to Sheikh Saoud Al Thani

Celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of one of Qatar’s greatest collectors who was largely responsible for laying the foundation for Qatar Museum’s world class collections. The exhibition showcases more than 300 outstanding art works from prehistoric fossils and Egyptian antiquities to Orientalist paintings and masterpieces of the history of photography in a spectacular display following the concept of ancient (Renaissance) “cabinet of curiosities” reflecting Sheikh Saoud’s fascination with both natural history and the art world.

Museum of Islamic Art

Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect I.M. Pei, the Museum is comprised of a main building with an adjacent education wing connected by a large central courtyard. The main building rises five-storeys, topped by a high domed atrium within a central tower.
