Museums and Exhibitions Closed Until Further Notice
At Qatar Museums, the health and safety of our visitors and staff is of the utmost importance.
In line with measures announced by the Qatari Government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, as of 9 April 2021 all of our museums, temporary exhibitions and heritage sites will be closed to visitors until further notice. All museum and exhibition shops will also be closed, and cafés and restaurants will suspend in-person dining. Additionally, the National Museum of Qatar playground will be closed until further notice.
The museums include:
- National Museum of Qatar
- Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art
- Museum of Islamic Art
- Fire Station
The temporary exhibitions include:
- A Falcon’s Eye: Tribute to Sheikh Saoud Al Thani
- Grey Times
- The New Black Vanguard: Photography Between Art and Fashion
- Experimental Photography
The following initiatives and projects are also cancelled or closed until further notice:
- School visits
- Workshops, lectures, tours and educational programming
- Public events
- MIA Bazaar and NMoQ Baraha Bazaar
- MIA Park Food & Beverage outlets and activities
Please note that Cass Art will continue to operate with COVID restrictions in place, and the restaurants Jiwan and IDAM will offer local delivery service. Access to MIA Park will remain open to the public for individual sport activity in accordance to the latest Government guidelines.
Due to the evolving nature of the situation, we will continue to review and revise our plans and processes and follow guidance from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH). We will keep you updated on further developments.
