Ceramic Workshop by French Ceramic Artist Magali Satgé.

Share with a friend

Led by French ceramic artist Magali Satgé, this workshop invites participants to explore the connections between contemporary creation and artisanal heritage through the making of a collective ceramic artwork inspired by the collections of the National Museum of Qatar.

Hosted at Liwan Design Studios and Labs (Qatar Museums), the workshop combines traditional pottery techniqueswith an experimental approach to ceramic design. Drawing on the richness of Qatari heritage, Magali Satgé offers an immersive experience in which artistic practice serves as a medium for exchange between French and Qatari craftsmanship.

Throughout the sessions, participants will engage in every stage of the creative process — from preparatory sketches to shaping and firing — within a collaborative framework aimed at producing a collective bas-relief to be publicly exhibited at the end of the residency. In parallel, a mobile artwork, co-created with Qatari artist Hameed Al Qahtani, will be completed and showcased as part of a joint exhibition event between Liwan and Heenat Salma Farm.
