For over a decade, Bricklab has been documenting Jeddah’s built environment using a variety of different mediums and approaches. From filmed moments and collected materials to recorded interviews and silicone imprints, they have been developing an experimental approach to archiving the built environment. In this lecture, they will be presenting their methodologies of archiving and how it informs their design practice.

Abdulrahman and Turki Gazzaz

Brothers Abdulrahman and Turki Gazzaz, were born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In 2015, they founded Bricklab, a studio based in Jeddah dedicated to developing architectural concepts. They have a particular interest in architectural engineering, planning and history, which ensures a strong focus on research for each project, offering insights into their social, economic and political contexts.
