The travelling exhibition arrived at Museu de Arte Brasileira-Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (MAB-FAAP) in São Paulo as part of the Qatar–Brazil 2014 Year of Culture, from London, Kobe and Doha. Jewellery and works of art showcased the extraordinary variety of colour and shape of natural and cultured pearls. The exhibition examined how pearls had been employed over centuries as a symbol of status and wealth, how tastes varied across cultures, and how pearl jewellery designs changed.
