Qatar boasts over 30 sites from the Early Islamic period, scattered throughout the northern deserts and occupied during the first few centuries of Islam.
Visitors are now offered the opportunity to visit one of these sites at Ain Mohammed, with explanations and guidance from the director of the project, Qatar Museums’ Dr. Robert Carter.
The location is close to Qatar’s UNESCO World Heritage Archaeological Site Al Zubarah, accessible via the boardwalk, and Olafur Eliasson's Shadows Travelling on the Sea of the Day, all of which can be visited during the same trip.
Note: Please wear comfortable closed shoes to visit the north and carry a filled, reusable water bottle.
