The talk explores the origins and development of painted plaster art, often overlooked in favour of other decorative forms. El Kacimi examines archaeological findings across Morocco, shedding light on this "poor art" and its influence on the renowned Moroccan-Andalusian architectural style.
Asmae El Kacimi, Assistant Professor at INSAP, Rabat, will deliver a lecture on Islamic wall painting in Bilad al-Maghrib from the 8th to 14th centuries CE.
