Inspired by Nature

Inspired by the Around the World exhibition, this hands-on workshop invites children to discover how designers look to nature for ideas, forms, textures, and materials. Guided by facilitator Sarah Champa, participants will first reflect on nature-inspired objects they encountered in the exhibition and discuss what elements of the natural world inspire them personally. They will then learn a simple wire-wrapping technique and use craft wire, beads, stones, and shells to create their own nature-inspired pendant. The workshop encourages close observation, creative thinking, and personal expression while helping young participants make connections between jewellery, design, and the natural world. Each participant will leave with a finished pendant that reflects their own interpretation of nature.
