The Design Doha Prize is a prestigious biennial initiative providing recognition and support for exceptional talents in the fields of design across the The Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA) region. Four designers are selected across 4 different design categories: Craft, Product Design​. Furniture Design​ and Emerging Talent. ​

The prize empowers these designers, provides them with valuable guidance, and showcases their work to a wider audience.​

2026 Prize

Design Doha Prize 2026 demonstrates a commitment to excellence, innovation, and cultural relevance, positioning itself as a key player in shaping the future of design on the world stage.​

  • ​Announcing the winners at the Prize Ceremony in April at the Museum of Islamic Art designed by IM pei.​
  • 300 people will attend the event, among them will be finalists, jurors, influencers, renowned designers, partners, sponsors, and businessmen.​

​​​Each category winner will receive a financial grant of 200,000 QAR, alongside invaluable recognition and exposure through our media partners. Additionally, winners will benefit from a residency, a mentorship, and the winners will also have their designs carried for one season, opening doors to global retail. ​​​

PRODUCT DESIGN

The Design Prize recognizes designers who excel in creating innovative, functional, and market-ready products. Winners will demonstrate mastery of materials, scalability for serial production, and relevance to sectors like retail, consumer goods, and technology-driven design.​

FURNITURE DESIGN

This category honors designers who blend craftsmanship, material innovation, and functionality to create furniture for domestic, hospitality, and commercial spaces. Prize winners will showcase strong material knowledge, production techniques, and adaptability for serial production.​
DD CRAFT

CRAFT

Central to Design Doha’s ethos is the vitality of heritage; we show how it can be used as a foundation for future-facing innovation. Prize winners in Craft will have a deep engagement with traditional and innovative techniques (e.g. weaving, ceramics, glass, metalwork, stone carving etc.) and a vision for ensuring their ongoing relevance.​
DD PRIZE ID

EMERGING TALENT

As part of Design Doha’s commitment to providing a platform to designers, we seek to recognize Emerging Talent from Qatar and the MENASA region. Prize winners in this category should be currently enrolled in a design program or have earned a design degree from 2024, 2025, while showing promise for outstanding future development and leadership in the field.​
