Al Sadu is a style of weaving perfected by the Gulf Bedouins. The typically red, white and black woven fabrics were used for everything from tent dividers to clothing to camel harnesses. This illustrated publication contains an exquisite array of textile designs and geometric patterns to accompany the comprehensive overview of the ancient handicraft. Though modernisation has led to a decline of Al Sadu, this traditional cloth still holds a sentimental appeal for the Gulf peoples.
