Jacques LeBlanc

Geologist and author Jacques LeBlanc, is a longtime collaborator with Qatar Petroleum and NMoQ. He discovered a Miocene-era dugong graveyard, and today his finds enrich the NMoQ collections.

Jacques LeBlanc is a geologist specialising in stratigraphy and surface mapping. He spent many years working with Qatar Petroleum. He has also worked with museums collecting geological and paleontological specimens. His finds have contributed to the collections and displays at Qatar National Museum.

Among his most notable finds is a Miocene-era dugong graveyard. This find has been studied in detail by NMoQ and researchers from the Smithsonian, along with LeBlanc himself.

In addition to his fieldwork, LeBlanc is a prolific author and has published much on the geology and palaeontology of Qatar.
