National Museum of Qatar Internship 1: AI Digital Centre

Period of Internship: 3 months
Location: National Museum of Qatar

About This Internship

Interns will work in the AI Digital Centre to participate in planning and executing educational and computational programmes for youth in the community.

The internship will give the participants exposure to creating educational experiences in the realm of the National Museum while integrating technologies, working with external departments and engaging with public audiences.

Interns will work in person on an as-needed basis, and remotely for online-based tasks.

Interns will be mentored throughout the program.

Specialist area: Information Technology

Qualification Required: University/College Students

The interns will:

  • Gain insight into programme management, working with other departments in an organisation, and working with the public.
  • Participate in planning for the centre activities for the summer.
  • Co-organise events hosted by the centre to experience real-world team management skills
  • Engage in delivering workshops by presenting or supporting the presenter

National Museum of Qatar Internship 3: Events

Period of Internship: 6 months
Location: National Museum of Qatar

About This Internship

Interns will get exposure to external client relationship management, networking, building strong working relationships with internal colleagues, communications skills (written and verbal), event planning and processes and real-time problem-solving during live events.  The internship can last 3 to 6 months depending on intern availability.

Specialist area: Communications, Marketing

Qualification Required: Bachelor’s degree

The intern will:

  • Shadow the Head of Events to learn about our events processes and support on an ad hoc basis
  • Attend site visits and client meetings, be copied on emails, be exposed to our processes, and attend during event delivery
  • As the intern's skills, institutional knowledge and confidence grow we hope that they would be able to be the focal point for some events, handling the event support from initial enquiry to event delivery

Period of Internship: 3 months

Location: National Museum of Qatar

About This Internship

Interns will gain exposure to the integration of technology into museum educational programmes. In addition, they will understand the correlation between organisational goals and the development of educational initiatives integrating technology. They will also learn about methodologies to effectively engage youth in technological educational programmes within the museum context.

Qualification Required: Master’s degree

Skills required:

  • Proficiency in English and Arabic
  • Programme management

The intern will:

  • Work in the AI Digital Centre to participate in planning and executing educational and computational programmes for youth in the community

  • Attend work in person daily
  • Be mentored throughout the programme

National Museum of Qatar Internship 5: Project Managment

Period of Internship: 3 months

Location: National Museum of Qatar

About This Internship

Interns will gain exposure to the integration of technology into museum educational programmes. In addition, they will understand the correlation between organisational goals and the development of educational initiatives integrating technology. They will also learn about methodologies to effectively engage youth in technological educational programmes within the museum context.

Specialist area: Technology Project Management

Qualification Required: University/College Student

Skills required:

  • Attention to detail
  • Planning skills
  • Communication
  • English proficiency
  • Technical knowledge (coding, software integration, etc.)

The intern will:

  • Work in the AI Digital Centre to participate in planning and executing educational and computational programmes for youth in the community
  • Gain exposure to creating educational experiences in the realm of the National Museum while integrating technologies, working with external departments and engaging with public audiences
  • Attend work in person daily
  • Be mentored throughout the programme

As events often take place during the evenings and weekends, there is an expectation that the intern will work flexibly to support live events. Please note hours will not be the standard working hours of 7.30am to 2.30pm, Sunday to Thursday.
