National Museum of Qatar Internship 1

Period of Internship: 3 months

About This Internship

  • Three interns are required to be based in the office.
  • Interns reporting from the NMoQ offices are required to attend 8am to 1pm daily.
  • Interns will contribute to the proposal of new topics for oral history interviews.
  • Preparing, under supervision, questions for oral history interviews.
  • Participating in the conduct of women’s oral history interviews in accordance with approved guidelines.
  • Collaborating with the Exhibitions Department to support the preparation of oral history–related exhibition content.
  • Working in coordination with internal departments and relevant governmental entities to support the development of content for temporary exhibitions and projects.
  • Transcribing and preparing selected interview excerpts based on the museum’s requirements for galleries, workshops, or temporary exhibitions, in alignment with the museum’s strategic plan.
  • Translating selected interview excerpts into the English language in accordance with institutional standards.
  • Transcribing English-language oral history interviews in line with approved documentation procedures.
  • Attending official meetings and workshops within and outside the museum as assigned.

The intern will:

  • Enhance practical experience in oral history within a museum environment.
  • Gain familiarity with documentation, transcription, and translation processes following institutional standards;
  • Develop skills for working under supervision and collaborate with internal teams and relevant entities;
  • Develop professional skills and prepare trainees for careers in the cultural and museum sectors.
