Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art Internship 1: Learning and Outreach

Period of internship: 6 months

About this internship

The intern will assist the Learning and Outreach team in the planning, organising and delivery of public programmes, and perform other job-related responsibilities as needed.

Specialist area: Fine Arts

Qualification required: Bachelor’s degree

Skills required:

  • Ability to handle/care for art materials
  • Knowledge of fine arts and art history
  • Experience with art materials
  • Ability to assist museum staff in variety of art-related tasks
  • Experience with Word and Excel
  • Communication Skills, Planning & Coordination
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving

The intern will:

  • 1 month: Assist in programme development: Help design and create educational materials, presentations, and activities for workshops, and community outreach programmes.
  • 1 month: Conduct Community Research: Gather and analyse data on community needs, learning preferences, and engagement trends to support the development of targeted outreach strategies.
  • 2 months: Coordinate Events and Logistics: Assist in planning and organising events, including scheduling, managing registrations, and preparing necessary resources. Engage with Participants: Support outreach efforts by communicating with community members, answering inquiries, and collecting feedback from programme attendees.
  • 2 months: Evaluate programme effectiveness: Track attendance, analyse survey responses, and compile reports to assess the impact of learning and outreach activities, providing recommendations for improvement

The purpose of this internship program is to provide students with practical experience in library operations, enhance their research skills, and promote community engagement through library services.
