The Art Mill Museum is Qatar’s future museum of international modern and contemporary art. It will be a nexus of creativity and will present the nation’s world-class, international, multidisciplinary collection. The museum prefiguration team is developing the museum and already conceiving exhibitions in other QM venues.

About This internship

The intern will support the research and programming for an upcoming architecture exhibition at Palazzo Franchetti, Venice.

The intern will assist with content research, archival documentation, programme planning, and logistical coordination, contributing to the development of curatorial narratives and public programmes.

This position is ideal for students or recent graduates in architecture, art history, urban studies, museum studies, or related fields with a strong interest in exhibition- programming and research.

Specialist area: Architecture, Art History, Museum Studies, Urban Planning, or related fields

Qualification Required: Bachelor’s Degree

Skills Required:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with academic research, archival sources, and exhibition programming is a plus.

The intern will:

  • Research and Content Development
    • Conduct in-depth research on architects, architectural projects, and thematic frameworks related to the exhibition.
    • Compile and organise academic sources, articles, and archival materials on featured architects such as Yasmeen Lari, Hassan Fathy, Brinda Somaya, and Anupama Kundoo.
  • Exhibition and Programme Coordination
    • Assist in planning panel discussions, guided tours, and public lectures related to the exhibition themes.
    • Help coordinate guest speakers, researchers, and artists involved in the public programmes.
    • Support the team in organising digital and physical exhibition materials, ensuring research accuracy.
  • Administrative and Logistical Support
    • Maintain and update research databases related to the exhibition programming content.
    • Assist in preparing meeting notes, timelines, and planning documents for the curatorial and education teams.
